blue sky downpour

luke bateman

On the uncanny beauty of rainfall from cloudless, sunny skies.

Clouds, away on holiday, send raindrops
Like postcards: capsules of sun-glimmer.
I am struck by the clarity of the window frames
An outside world as tangible as a photograph.
The pitter patter of a slapdash sun dance.
Oh, what joy it is to be real.
